Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Potential US Move ‘Not A Good Thing’ For This Reason
Following a documentary where they opened up about how difficult the press spotlight has been on their lives and an announcement that they would be taking six weeks off at the end of the year to spend time in the United States, some experts are warning Meghan Markle and Prince Harry that heading abroad during the holidays may not be such a good idea after all.
During an appearance on the ITV show, “Lorraine,” expert Dan Wootton revealed that he thinks the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may seek to take up part-time residence in the US and their upcoming trip could be a part of that eventual plan, but the show’s host, Lorraine Kelly, wondered what would happen if the couple also used the time to try and mend a very broken relationship in their circle—the one between the former actress and her estranged father, Thomas Markle.
While her father is now based in Mexico, it wouldn’t take much for the royal couple to pay him a visit, especially if they mainly have a base in Los Angeles near her mother, Doria Ragland, but Kelly warned that trying to make things better with baby Archie’s grandfather could have a negative affect.
“Okay, and if she goes to America she could under the radar go and see her dad,” she said. “He could then terribly open old wounds. It would not be a good thing to do.”
Considering the couple’s past when it comes to her father, a potential plan to visit could also backfire if he shared their interaction with the press—something he has done before, In fact, the couple’s current lawsuit against Associated Newspapers for printing a letter the Duchess wrote to her father was made possible by his decision to initially release the document to them.
The warning about what could happen if they did choose to try and fix that relationship comes after Wootton also speculated about the possibility the pair may move to the US part-time, and after other sources have claimed that the couple might seriously be considering it due to everything they’ve been through and the fact that things haven’t been going well for them in the UK.
“There’s an acceptance that things haven’t worked out with the Sussexes full-time in Windsor so they could have a second base in America,” sources previously told The Sun.
