Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s Baby More Popular Than Prince William, Kate’s Children?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s firstborn may already be more popular than Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children even though Baby Sussex has not yet been born.
Brian McGleenon, a journalist for Express, said that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s baby’s popularity have surpassed his royal cousins. As such, the term Brand Sussex is already being used in reference to the royal baby.
The frenzy surrounding Prince Harry and Markle’s baby continued with the millions placed on bets over the sex and name of the infant. The betting frenzy heightened as Markle’s due date approaches.
When Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot on May 19, 2018, their wedding only garnered over $4.5 million bets. But the interest surrounding the couple’s firstborn has already surpassed this figure.
According to the McGleenon, the interest over Prince William and Middleton’s royal wedding and the birth of their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis did not see the same levels of mania.
Meanwhile, the arrival of Prince Harry and Markle’s baby is not the only thing that suggests the Sussexes are more popular than the Cambridges. After the royal couple announced that they have an official Instagram account, it was revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge started losing their followers.
Within hours, the Duke and Duchess broke records with the greatest number of followings. Some of their fans also commented their desire to unfollow Kensington Palace’s social media accounts now that Markle and Prince Harry already have their own.
However, it is important to note that Kensington Palace’s Instagram and Twitter accounts are now dedicated to Prince William, Middleton, and their three children. As such, unfollowing the accounts means unfollowing the personal and professional lives of the Cambridge clan.
“Okay, time to unfollow Kensington,” one person commented.
“Harry and Meghan have gotten their own social media!!! I can finally unfollow Kensington Palace’s ass,” another person wrote.
