The new epilogue of “Finding Freedom” will detail Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s heartbreak over the death of Prince Philip.

Book publisher HarperCollins said in a press release Monday that the upcoming epilogue will also include new details about the newfound life of the royal couple since moving to California.
“In the new epilogue, Scobie and Durand share behind the scenes of Harry and Meghan’s groundbreaking interview with Oprah, details behind the couple’s move to California, the various philanthropic and business endeavors the Sussexes have been involved with since their move and what’s to come with Archewell Productions,” said the publisher in its press release.
HarperCollins also said the updated biography would detail Meghan’s journey to emotional healing after losing a child and the birth of Lilibet Diana. It will also document “the challenges the couple face regarding privacy and the British press, and the heartbreak the couple felt over Prince Philip’s death.”
Prince Philip died at the age of 99 and was laid to rest in April, months after Prince Harry and Meghan officially quit the royal family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex learned about the death of the Duke of Edinburgh at their California home and it was reported that the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department had to wake up Prince Harry in the dead of night to deliver the news.
Prince Harry flew back to Britain after receiving the news, while his wife Meghan, who was pregnant with their daughter Lilibet at the time, had to stay back in California. During the funeral, Prince Harry had to face his family for the first time since their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in March, in which he and Meghan exposed the racism and extreme isolation that the Duchess had allegedly experienced within the Royal Family.
The new version of “Finding Freedom” will be out on Aug. 31, which marks the 24th death anniversary of Prince Harry’s mother, Princess Diana. Its release comes as the Duke of Sussex revealed that he was set to write his own memoir to give an “accurate and wholly truthful” account of his life. The memoir will be released in 2022.
