Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s Son Archie Will Have His Own Security Team

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will reportedly have his own security team in place.

Even though the royal is just a few days old, he is expected to receive the same protection as his parents. Former personal protection officer Simon Morgan, who worked for the royal family, explained how Archie would be a part of his parents’ security package.

“Each member of the royal family, each protected principle, has their own package which correlates with the threat and risk. The new royal baby is already going into a package that has mom and dad catered for,” he told Hello! Magazine.

According to Morgan, the package expands and contracts depending on the threats, risks, and the environment that they are in. Some of the most important considerations have to do with the people who are present, the type of event that they are in, the time of day, and several other factors.

The former personal protection officer also said that even though Archie doesn’t hold the title of a prince, he would receive the same level of protection as Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

“It is very much a tried and tested format. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex aren’t the first royal parents… Royalty protection has seen this over and over again, they look at how the format is going to work, what that format will actually be, and then factor in lots of different things with it,” he explained.

Markle gave birth to her son on May 6 at 5:26 a.m. Two days later, she and Prince Harry presented Archie to the world at St. George’s Hall in Windsor Castle. Following their first outing as a family of three, Markle and Archie will not be seen in public again anytime soon.

The Duchess of Sussex is still on maternity leave and will return to her royal duties sometime in October.
