Prince Harry Needed Time To Realize He Could Share His Anxieties With William
Prince Harry and Prince William have always been close, but the royal siblings reportedly don’t normally talk about their feelings and emotions. As such, the Duke of Sussex struggled with his anxieties and the death of Princess Diana by himself for years.
In the book “Harry: Conversations With the Prince,” royal author Angela Levin said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge helped Prince Harry work through some of his anxieties and issues. After they became parents, their perspective on life changed.
“It took a while for Harry to realize his brother would, in fact, be a good person to talk to. As time passed, he felt worse rather than better and eventually began to open a little about his problems,” she said.
During her conversation with Meghan Markle’s husband, Prince Harry admitted that it was only after he started having conversations with Prince William that his bottled-up issues came to the forefront. It was during this time that he realized he needed to do something about it.
But Prince Harry acknowledged the fact that Prince William was always helpful and encouraging. However, it was he who needed some time to come to terms with his problems.
“You always said to me, you’ve got to sit down and think about those memories. But for me, it was like ‘I don’t want to think about it.’ If you have a family environment where you can talk openly about your issues, that makes for a better family, better preparation, probably working better at your job, it just goes on and on and on,” Prince Harry said.
The Duchess of Cambridge also praised Prince Harry for being strong. The mom of three also said that the royal siblings’ special relationship and closeness need to be celebrated.
But just a year after the interview, Prince William and Prince Harry had a falling out. In the ITV documentary “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey,” the Duke of Sussex said that as siblings, they have had good days and bad days.
