Why Prince Harry’s Household Cavalry Suit Featured A ‘Secret Pocket’ For William, Kate
Prince Harry and Prince William used to be very close. Way before the royal siblings started having problems, they relied and supported each other on everything.
When Prince William tied the knot to Kate Middleton in 2011, he gave his younger brother a very important role. Prince Harry was named as Prince William’s best man, and he was tasked with keeping the wedding ring.
But the Duke of Sussex had to wear his Household Cavalry’s Blues and Royals outfit, which made it impossible to keep the royal couple’s wedding rings safely. As such, he decided to ask the tailor to include a secret pocket in his suit.
Tailor Kashket & Partners quickly agreed to include a secret pocket so that Prince Harry could keep his brother and sister-in-law’s wedding rings safely. Since the secret pocket wasn’t supposed to be seen by anyone, no one knew exactly where Meghan Markle’s husband hid the rings. It was only after the royal wedding that the tailors revealed the secret.
“Harry, aware that he would be waving to the crowds, feared he may drop the ring and wanted a secret compartment. The royal brothers wanted the day to run effortlessly smoothly and decided this would be the best option,” a spokesperson said.
Other than holding on to the ring, Prince Harry was also tasked to give a best man speech at the wedding reception. An insider said that every one cried because the Duke of Sussex’s words were so moving.
But Prince Harry also made everyone laugh when he called the newlyweds the Dude and the Duchess, and he teased his older brother over his receding hairline. Prince Harry also jokingly apologized to Middleton for marrying a bald man.
Meanwhile, during a recent interview in an ITV documentary, Prince Harry admitted that he and his brother are currently on different paths. He also said that they have had some issues, but they will always be brothers at the end of the day.
