Prince Harry ‘Plays Idiot’ To Avoid Prince William’s Shadow For This Reason
Prince Harry reportedly plays the idiot to avoid his older brother Prince William’s shadow especially when the latter becomes king.
In the documentary “William and Harry: Brothers In Arms,” Ingrid Seward, a royal editor, said that there are multiple sides to Prince Harry’s personality.
“You sort of had the three Harry’s, really. The sensitive little boy, the fighting man, and the idiot. And I think people love him for all three of those things,” Seward said (via Express).
The expert also noted how Prince Harry might have felt that he was being overshadowed by the Duke of Cambridge.
“I think it’s very difficult being the second son because you don’t really have a defined role. You’re just the joker in the back,” the expert said.
Prince Harry has served in the British army, and he’s also famous for his philanthropic work. But while growing up, he had the reputation that he was a royal rebel. As a teenager, Prince Harry loved to party and hated the media’s attention. At one point, he even had a clash with a photographer in London.
But despite all of his mistakes in the past, the Duke of Sussex remains to be one of the most loved royals of all time. One of the proofs to the public’s fondness over Prince Harry was made evident when he tied the knot with Meghan Markle on May 19. Millions of people across the globe tuned in on television to witness the couple’s union.
Katie Nicholl, a royal author, said in “Harry: Life, Loss, and Love,” that Prince Harry’s pulling power comes from the fact that he is just like a normal individual.
“He is ordinary, he does trip up, he falls out of nightclubs, he lashes out at the paparazzi, he gets drunk on occasions,” she said.
But at the end of the day, Prince Harry and his wife have proven themselves to be likable and reliable. They both share a social conscience and a desire to effect change in the years ahead.
