Prince Harry has reportedly changed his number after he was pranked by two Russian YouTubers twice.

Following the shocking incident, Prince Harry’s statements about his decision to quit the royal family and Donald Trump were made public. Shortly after, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams called the Duke of Sussex extremely foolish for not making sure that he was actually talking to Greta Thunberg and her dad.

According to Express, Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexei Stolyarov initially contacted Meghan Markle’s husband via an email with the subject “Call or meeting with Greta Thunberg.”

In December, Prince Harry contacted the Russian pranksters using his personal email account. While speaking with The Sun, Stolyarov said that he was shocked when Prince Harry responded to their email.

A royal insider also weighed in on what transpired at that time.

“It perhaps highlights that there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes, never publicly spoken about, to ensure things run smoothly and are hitch-free. While it may appear effortless, the appearance of accessibility and openness sits atop a lot of work. It is often specifically designed around how that accessibility is presented,” the insider said.

“As they [the Sussexes] move forward, they do need to invest in proper resources and have the right management, rather than adopting an approach more familiar in showbusiness. Perhaps this incident will highlight that. Let's hope it's a wake-up call,” they added.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry’s contact number never actually showed up when he called the Russian pranksters. But according to the publication, he still decided to change it due to security reasons.

While speaking with Daily Mail, Fitzwilliams couldn’t believe the fact that Prince Harry didn’t double-check who he was talking to and divulging sensitive information to. He said that the Duke of Sussex’s staff should have also verified who the email was from and whether or not Thunberg was really the one who reached out to the royal.
