Prince Harry Wanted To Split From Prince William Before Marrying Meghan Markle

Although Meghan Markle has been blamed for the rift in Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship, it seems the Duke of Sussex may have planned the split years before he met his wife.

Prior to his marriage to Meghan, Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton seemed inseparable. The trio often appeared to be in great spirits whenever they were photographed together.

Despite the Cambridges and Sussexes’ charity split announcement in June, royal biographer Angela Levin claimed Harry had been planning to put some distance between himself and William for years.

During a chat with Yahoo’s “The Royal Box,” Levin admitted she was surprised William and Harry hadn’t split sooner.

“I was rather surprised that they did meet up a year ago because Harry had told me shortly before that they were only going to join up to do the mental health campaign – Heads Together. Then afterwards, he would probably go his own way,” she explained.

Although Prince William and Prince Harry’s split comes amid feud rumors, royal expert Duncan Larcombe believes there is tension between the brothers, but neither sibling is bitter about the separation.

“It’s definitely a sign things aren’t going so swimmingly for the four of them. I think the rift stuff is a little overplayed, but certainly, the fact they now have their own media team, they are now living in a different palace or place. There’s a lot of signs perhaps they are not the best of friends,” he said.

Before Meghan gave birth to baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, she and Harry moved out of their Kensington Palace home, next to Prince William and Kate, to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.

When they were young, Harry was reportedly jealous of the attention William received because of his chances of becoming king. Although Princess Diana and Prince Charles tried to treat their boys equally, Harry reportedly felt William was favored.

Now that the brothers have split, Prince Harry has the opportunity to step out of his brother’s shadow and create a separate legacy.
