Prince Harry Was Warned Against Taking A Private Jet But He Ignored Guidance
Prince Harry was reportedly warned against taking a private jet to Sicily in July, but the Duke of Sussex deliberately ignored the advice. Shortly after, he faced a major backlash, and he was also dubbed as a hypocrite.
According to Daily Mail, Prince Harry was asked not to take a private jet to Sicily to attend the Google climate change conference. But since he didn’t listen to the advice, his decision came to back to bite him badly.
And just one week after the Duke of Sussex took a private jet to his destination, he, Meghan Markle, and their son, Archie, took another private jet to Nice and Ibiza for their summer vacation.
During this time, Prince Harry and Markle were also promoting the importance of the environment, and they have also been educating people on how bad climate change is. Royal fans and experts saw the royals’ words and actions as contradictory.
Weeks after the backlash, Prince Harry explained his decision to the public. He said that he took the private jet to ensure his wife and son’s safety. But even this statement of his was slammed by critics.
But by the looks of it, the royal couple may have already learned their lesson. They opted to take a commercial flight when they attended their friend Misha Nonoo’s wedding in Rome. But at that time, the royal couple wasn’t joined by their 4-month-old son.
“They did fly commercial as Meghan was a bit stung by the criticism over her and Harry's use of private jets. Misha helped introduce Harry to Meghan and the two women are the best of friends. Meghan wasn't going to miss her wedding for the world,” a source told The Sun.
Prince Harry and Markle are in South Africa at the moment. They arrived in the continent on Sept. 23, and they will be in South Africa until Oct. 2.
