Prince Harry Wasn’t ‘Envious’ Of Prince William, Kate Middleton’s Relationship, Netizens Say
Prince Harry couldn’t have possibly been jealous of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s relationship before he met Meghan Markle, according to some netizens.
Just recently, Princess Diana’s former royal butler, Paul Burrell, claimed that the Duke of Sussex was envious of his older brother and Middleton’s relationship because he hasn’t found his forever person just yet.
But on the online forum site Quora, royal fans said that Markle’s husband couldn’t have been envious of the future king, especially since the claim came from Burrell.
Lorraine Houston, a former student at Durham University, said that Burrell can say anything that he likes – true or otherwise – because Princess Diana is no longer around to confirm or deny them. But out of everything he has said in the past, the one about Prince Harry being envious of his brother is the most doubtful claim.
“On the death of their mother, the boys were very young and they suffered this trauma together and only knew the pain of this loss. It is likely that they grew close and supported each other at this time… The introduction of Kate Middleton will have changed their relationship but not necessarily negatively,” she said.
Claire Chase said that there shouldn’t be an issue if Prince Harry was envious of Prince William because being envious is different from being jealous. It is possible that Prince Harry felt envious of the royal couple’s relationship because he also wanted to settle down and have his own family.
Brent McKee, a former student at the University of Saskatchewan, said that it’s impossible for Burrell to still know Prince Harry and Prince William’s thoughts as adults since he no longer has access to the royal family.
“Doesn’t the royal family totally shun those who write about their service to the royal family? So Burrell wouldn’t really know whether Harry was jealous of William and Catherine because it happened after he became a parish to the royal household,” he said.
