Prince Harry’s Son Could Join The Military As A ‘Valuable Link With Tradition’
Prince Harry’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, may consider a career in the military when he gets older.
While speaking with Express, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said that even though it is still very early to see where Archie’s interests lie, there is also a possibility that he would follow in the Duke of Sussex’s footsteps.
The royal commentator said that Prince Harry and Markle will be supportive with whatever it is that their son wants to do in the future.
“If Archie joined the military one day, it would also be seen as a valuable link with tradition. There has been a royal military tradition for hundreds of years and it is continued today by the service of many senior royals in the military… There is also a special bond that links the royals to various parts of the three services,” he said.
For instance, Queen Elizabeth is the head of state, and she also served in the Auxiliary Territorial Service during the War. Prince Philip, on the other hand, was mentioned in dispatches.
Prince Andrew saw the service in the Falklands War, Prince Harry served in Afghanistan, and Prince William also served in the military for seven years. However, the latter was forbidden from serving in front of the line.
“Harry's founding of the Invictus Games, for disabled servicemen and women, has been a phenomenal success too,” he said. And just this week, the new dad attended the 50th anniversary of the Invictus Games in London. This proves how dedicated the Duke of Sussex is in the important cause.
Prince Harry and Markle welcomed Archie on May 6. Unlike his older cousins, Archie was not born at St. Mary’s Hospital’s Lindo Wing. Rather, he was born at the Portland Hospital in London. Archie’s christening was also a private event, unlike the christening of his cousins, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Archie’s godparents’ names haven’t been announced either.
