Prince Philip has allegedly passed away at the age of 98, some royal fans have claimed on Twitter.

The rumors spread like wildfire on social media on Saturday. However, no confirmation has been made.

Royal fans are convinced that BBC will make an official announcement at 8 a.m. after the death of the Duke of Edinburgh.

“Anyone else hearing rumors of the death of Prince Philip? #royalrumors @BBCNews,” Twitter user @shineypixels said.

“Has Prince Philip passed away? There is much speculation on social media and it does coincide with RAF Northolt closing Heathrow’s airspace this morning. IIRC, the BBC only announce the death of an active royal 8 a.m. after the death,” Twitter user @Lostinthecity7 said.

“Word on the street is Prince Philip is dead. The street could confirm this and other royal death rumors with the assistance of an old fan favorite,” Twitter user @UtterLiberation said.

“As yet we have not insight into the rumors about #PrincePhilip’s death, but public notification may take some time,” Twitter user @erumors said.

Earlier this week, a source told The Sun that Prince Philip’s health is deteriorating. Not only is the dad of four largely bed-ridden and in ill-health; he can also only spend 10 minutes at a time in someone else’s company before he feels exhausted.

Princess Diana’s former royal butler, Paul Burrell, also claimed that Prince Philip is extremely sick. And Queen Elizabeth will be most affected if something bad happens to her husband.

“Nobody understands Elizabeth more than Philip. He has been her mainstay for most of her life. They have no secrets. They have lived through traumas and ordeals but have stayed on course as a committed couple,” he said.

Psychic Georgina Walker also predicted the possibility of Prince Philip dying this year. She said that she could see a flag flying half-mast over Buckingham Palace.

Following Prince Philip’s death, Her Majesty would be in mourning, and Prince Charles might have to step into her role as the head of the monarchy.
