Prince Philip reportedly discouraged Prince Harry from marrying Meghan Markle.

The Duke of Edinburgh seems to have no issues with Prince Harry’s wife. However, according to Dan Sales of The Sun, when he was still wooing the former “Suits” star, the 98-year-old senior royal warned Prince Harry about marrying an actress.

“One steps out with actresses, one doesn’t marry them,” Prince Philip told Prince Harry.

Queen Elizabeth II’s husband made the remarks as Prince Harry and Markle’s romance got serious. The two royals have a very close bond, so it was understandable for Prince Philip to advise his grandson.

Prince Philip was among the first royals to see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s firstborn Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. He was also featured on the first photo of baby Archie that Buckingham Palace released after his photocall.

Prince Philip also attended Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding even if he was still recovering from a hip operation at the time. The Duke of Edinburgh was not the only member of the royal family to warn Prince Harry of marrying Markle.

Prince William also told his younger brother that their relationship was “moving quickly.” However, the new dad didn’t take his brother’s advice well. Instead, Prince Harry accused Prince William of ruining his romance with Markle before it even started.

“Harry went mental,” a source told Emily Andrews. “He accused his brother of trying to finish his romance before it had begun. The brothers’ relationship has not really recovered.”

There were rumors that Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s two sons had a falling-out. Earlier this year, the palace announced that Prince Harry and Markle were splitting their household from Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Following their separation, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their new official account on Instagram. Just hours after their announcement, the couple gained millions of followers. However, Prince William and Middleton remain more popular because they have over 700,000 more followers.
