Prince Philip Greets Meghan Markle Amid Claims He Disapproved Of Prince Harry Wedding

Prince Philip has been retired from his royal duties for the past two years, but he still made headlines this week. The Duke of Edinburgh greeted Meghan Markle on her 38th birthday on Aug. 4.

In a joint Instagram post, the dad of four and Queen Elizabeth sent Markle their warm wishes on Sunday. They also included an adorable photo of Markle holding Prince Harry’s hand in their post.

The Queen and Prince Philip weren’t the ones that wrote the caption for the photo, but since it was uploaded on the official Royal Family Instagram account, it is believed that they gave their blessing before the greeting was made public.

Prince Philip’s sweet but simple greeting to the Duchess of Sussex came in the heels of surprising claims that he was once talked Prince Harry out of marrying the “Suits” alum.

The Sun previously claimed that Prince Philip told his grandson that one only steps out with actresses but one doesn’t need to marry them. Markle worked as an actress before she and Prince Harry got engaged. While they were still dating, Markle was still appearing the hit TV show “Suits.”

But if Prince Philip tried to change Prince Harry’s mind about marrying Markle, it seems that the Queen was always on board with the royal couple’s relationship. Her Majesty is believed to have a wonderful relationship with her granddaughter-in-law.

Royal experts previously claimed that the Queen loves the fact that Markle has been a positive influence on Prince Harry. Before the royals started dating each other, Prince Harry was in and out of his previous relationships. He was also branded as a playboy prince and as a partygoer.

But since he started dating Markle, Prince Harry’s life has improved. He also lost a considerable amount of weight after Markle encouraged her husband to exercise regularly and to eat healthily. Prince Harry is also believed to have a happier outlook in life since dating Markle.
