Prince Philip is a fan of Meghan Markle’s.

There are rumors that the Duchess of Sussex is difficult to work with and that she’s having a rift with her sister-in-law Kate Middleton. Other sources claimed that Queen Elizabeth II was unhappy with her “demanding” nature and banned her from using the Queen’s jewelry collection.

Despite those claims, there’s one royal that’s reportedly very fond of Markle and that’s Prince Philip. Although the Duchess of Sussex and Duke of Edinburgh were not often seen together, according to Katie Nicholl in 2019 Channel 5 documentary “ Meghan Markle: Movies, Marriage & Motherhood,” the duke was instantly fascinated by the former “Suits” star.

“She found herself a true fan in the Duke of Edinburgh,” Nicholl said.

“He was apparently hugely impressed of how well-read Meghan was,” the royal expert added.

Prince Philip was also among the members of the royal family who paid a visit to baby Archie before his official visit with the Queen. Shortly following Archie’s photocall, the couple shared a family snap on Instagram featuring Markle looking at her baby in her arms while smiling. She was surrounded by Prince Harry, Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip and her mother, Doria Ragland.

Prince Philip has the same fondness for his other granddaughter-in-law Kate Middleton. The Duchess of Cambridge and Duke of Edinburgh are two generations apart but their close bond is apparent. The duo was once photographed laughing while looking at each other. According to a body language expert, Prince Philip and Middleton were perfect partners in crime.

“These delightful poses suggest unexpectedly rich bonds between Kate and Prince Philip based on not just affection but also a shared sense of humour and fun,” Judi James said.

Aside from that, Prince Philip reportedly assured Middleton that Prince William would marry her. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge dated for almost a decade before they decided to tie the knot. However, before they got engaged, they also had two breakups.

According to Nicholl in her book “William and Harry,” Queen Elizabeth II’s husband reached out to Middleton assuring her of Prince William’s proposal since the latter partied without Middleton.

Prince Philip told Middleton that his grandson will “present a ring when the time is right.” Middleton valued the duke’s “well-intended reassurance” that she needed at the time.
