Prince Philip was not happy with Meghan Markle's decision to leave the royal family. The Duke of Edinburgh was allegedly "very disappointed" that Markle didn't support the monarchy in the same way he did, according to royal expert Ingrid Seward.

Prince Philip gave up his own career when his wife Queen Elizabeth II took over the throne. Seward believed that the 99-year-old royal was not happy with Markle's decision to step back from the royal duties and return to the U.S.

"I think he's very, very disappointed because I think he feels he gave up his naval career in order to stand by the Queen and help the monarchy," she told Sky News.

"And why can't Meghan just give up her acting career, support her husband and support the monarchy? As he used to say to Diana, this is not a popularity contest, this is all of us working together. He just cannot understand why she couldn't support Harry and help him rather than wanting to have her voice.”

Seward added that the duke was probably done with Prince Harry and Markle and didn't want to be involved in the talks about the royal couple's future when the Queen organized a meeting in January. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their plans to step back early this year. At the time, they also said that they wanted to work and be financially independent.

The biographer added that the issue "irritates him hugely." In fact, when the Queen called back Prince Charles and Prince William to discuss the Sussexes' future, Prince Philip was seen leaving the house swiftly before they all arrived.

"He simply doesn't want to get involved anymore," Seward added.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Markle just signed a multimillion deal with Netflix. They will be producing docuseries, scripted shows and children’s program as part of the deal.

However, there are rumors that they will also appear on a reality show. The couple immediately denied the speculations and set the record straight. They made it clear that they are not taking part in any reality show.

"The Duke and Duchess are not taking part in any reality shows," Prince Harry and Markle said in a statement issued to Deadline.
