Prince William has been criticized for working with the MI5 and MI6 for several weeks.

Earlier this month, Kensington Palace announced that the Duke of Cambridge concluded a three-week attachment to MI5, MI6 and GCHQ. However, Republic’s chief executive officer Graham Smith was far from pleased after hearing this news.

Smith questioned why the royals are given "greater access" to state secrets compared to government ministers and officials. He wasn’t happy when Prince Charles was sent all the Cabinet papers and found Prince William’s access to the security services unnecessary.

He also opened up the possibility of Prince William slipping the information he learned to a friend. He added that the royals have a “long history of seeking reflected glory from our armed forces.”

“Now they’re wasting the time and resources of the security services for their own amusement and publicity,” Smith said.

“The idea William needs to do this to prepare to be king is nonsense. You don’t need a knowledge of MI6 to be able to open shopping centres and wave to crowds,” he continued, before adding that the security services are not “royal playgrounds.”

Smith also finds the handing out of medals and ranks to princes and princesses who haven’t earned them insulting to the best and most professional armed services in the world.

Kensington Palace was also slammed due to Prince William’s spy work. One netizen shared a picture that the palace allegedly used to illustrate terrorism. The snap showed black men, which irked the netizens.

They accused Kensington Palace of being “racist and insensitive.” The netizen also called Prince William’s attention and warned him to be aware of the “threats from white supremacists.”

In related news, Prince William was recently accused of cheating on his wife, Kate Middleton, with their neighbor, Rose Hanbury. According to InTouch magazine, Middleton reportedly confronted her husband about the rumored affair, and the second-in-line to the throne only laughed because it was not true. However, the rumors reportedly rocked the palace and his marriage to Middleton.

The royals have already taken action about the issue. At least one publication received a legal warning after publishing details of the rumors.

In one of the letters from the Harbottle and Lewis law firm, they said that the rumors were "false and highly damaging." Despite the cheating allegations, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge do not show any signs of a troubled marriage when they are out in public. In fact, the couple looks increasingly happy and has been packing on PDA frequently.
