Prince William Flew Solo To Davos; Kate Middleton Missing For This Reason

Prince William flew to Switzerland alone without his wife, Kate Middleton.

On Tuesday, the Duke of Cambridge had the privilege of interviewing national treasure Sir David Attenborough at the Davos World Economic Forum. The two talked about the environment and the effects of climate change. Apart from the pressing issues, many were wondering where the Duchess of Cambridge was and why she didn’t accompany her husband during the event.

According to Kate Whitfield, a journalist for Express, Middleton didn’t make it because she was also busy with her own royal engagements. On the same day, Middleton visited Family Action charity in Lewisham, south London where she spoke about the struggles of motherhood.

“It's so hard. You get a lot of support with the baby as a mother particularly in the early days but after the age of one it falls away,” Middleton said during her speech. “Everybody experiences the same struggle.”

Thus far, Prince William and Middleton carried out their 2019 royal duties separately. When the Duchess of Cambridge celebrated her 37th birthday, the duke was out to attend the 30th anniversary of London’s Air Ambulance. The charity is close to the Duke of Cambridge’s heart as he was an air ambulance pilot for the East Anglian Air ambulance before he decided to be a full-time working royal.

On the other hand, Middleton also made her first royal engagement this year without Prince William. The Duchess of Cambridge visited King Henry’s Walk Community Garden in Islington to meet the volunteers and learn how the project brings people together through gardening and food growing. On the said outing, Middleton made pizza with the kids, too.

Middleton shared how her children Prince George and Princess Charlotte feel about the activity. According to her, it’s sad that she’s making pizza without her kids since they also enjoy the activity. Prince George and Princess Charlotte reportedly love making pizza because they always want to get their hands messy.

Prince William and Middleton were last seen together attending a Sunday service with Queen Elizabeth II in Sandringham after New Year’s. However, they haven’t carried out a joint engagement so far this year. But according to Harper’s Bazaar, the couple had a secret meeting with Sir Keith Mills, the chairman of the Royal Foundation. It’s believed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the charity to discuss future projects with Mills.
