Prince William once hugged Princess Diana tightly in a throwback photo.

In the snap, the Duke of Cambridge and his younger brother, Prince Harry, are wearing a matching blue long-sleeved polo shirt and navy-blue necktie. Prince William is standing behind the Princess of Wales while hugging him. His mouth is open, and he looks extremely happy.

Beside the Princess of Wales is Prince Harry whose adorable left hand is resting on his mom’s lap. Prince Harry’s other hand is holding his necktie. The Duke of Sussex has a cute smile on his face while leaning on Princess Diana’s chest.

Since Princess Diana passed away in 1997, she never got the chance to see her two sons grow up. But a royal fan who hasn’t forgotten about the People’s Princess created a reimagined drawing to show what Princess Diana would look like now.

In the colorful drawing, Princess Diana still looks as young as ever. Behind him is a grown-up Prince William, who is still hugging her tightly by the neck. Prince William’s facial expression is similar to the facial expression he had as a young boy hugging the Princess of Wales.

Prince Harry is also shown in the photo. He is seated beside his mom, and he is holding Princess Diana’s hand. Princess Diana has a huge smile on his face, which is how she would most likely always look like whenever he’s with his two boys.

The photo, which was uploaded on Instagram, was captioned to ask fans if they also miss the Princess of Wales as much as Prince William and Prince Harry miss their mom.

“I miss her dearly. Wishing she was here to see the big families and those adorable grandkids,” one royal fan commented.

“She is the queen of hearts forever in every generation. Inspiring and a role model mother,” another person wrote.

Princess Diana passed away on Aug. 31, 1997, following a fatal car crash in Paris.
