Prince William, Kate Middleton’s Engagement From 8 Years Ago Revisited
Prince William and Kate Middleton got engaged in October 2010, but they announced it to the public in November.
Eight years later, Hello! revisited the couple’s engagement, which took place at the foot of Mount Kenya’s Rutundu Cabin. During their first sit-down interview as an engaged couple, the Duke of Cambridge revealed that he planned to ask for Middleton’s hand in marriage three weeks before he actually proposed.
Middleton called the moment very romantic and revealed that they have talked about getting married and it only intensified a year before they got engaged.
During the same interview, the couple talked about starting their own family. They were both on same page regarding the importance of having children.
“It’s very important to me and I hope we’ll be able to have a happy family ourselves,” the mom of three said.
“Obviously, we want a family so we’ll have to start thinking about that,” Prince William added.
After their wedding in 2011 at Westminster Abbey, the couple fulfilled their dream of being first-time parents. Middleton gave birth to Prince George in 2013, and this was followed by Princess Charlotte in 2015, and Prince Louis this year.
In related news, Middleton and Prince William also made headlines this week after it was reported that the Duchess of Cambridge attended three secret meetings. On Tuesday, the mom of three held a meeting with experts in support of her Early Years program.
Rebecca English, a royal commentator, said that Middleton’s initiative marks her first-ever completely solo project.
That same day, Prince William held a reception at the Buckingham Palace in honor of the British divers that assisted in the Tham Luang cave rescue in Thailand last summer, according to Harper's Bazaar.
And on Wednesday, the couple held another reception at Kensington Palace in honor of BBC Radio One’s Teen Hero Awards’ finalists. Photos of the royal couple at the reception were shared online by Emily Andrews, a royal commentator for The Sun.
