Prince William and Kate Middleton’s summer vacations with their three children have become different this year.

Emmy Griffiths, a journalist for Hello! The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge normally travel to Mustique in January, but they weren’t able to go earlier this year because Prince George was already in school. Prince William and Middleton traveled to the island during the summer vacation in July instead.

Since both Prince George and Princess Charlotte are now in school, Prince William and Middleton have to plan their trips during school holidays. This way, their children won’t be absent from school. Prince George is currently enrolled at Thomas’s Battersea.

When the new school year starts, Prince George can expect to have more assignments and a broader curriculum. Last year, Prince George experienced a reception year, wherein he was given time to adjust to full-time education. This year, he will settle into more structured learning courses.

“Year 1 sees the beginning of a more formalized learning program. Children in Year 1 become increasingly independent and confident and begin to relish the opportunity to tackle new challenges presented to them across the broad curriculum,” Thomas’s Battersea’s information read.

According to Vogue, Prince George will take classes in math, English, science, history, geography, and religious studies this year. Some of his special courses will include French, drama, music, ballet, and physical education. The latter will specifically center on classes on gymnastics and swimming.

Outside of the school, Prince William and Middleton are also expected to contribute to their son’s growth and learning. On the school’s curriculum guide, it was stated that the put value and importance on having a healthy home and school partnership between the parents of the students and the institution.

“It also provides opportunities for them to contribute to the personal and social development of the children through active involvement in the life of the school,” it read.
