Prince William, Prince Harry's Throwback Photos From First Day At School
Prince George arrived at Thomas's Battersea in London with his father Prince William on Thursday to start his school. Just as the little royal started his school journey, Kensington Palace shared throwback photos of the Duke of Cambridge and his brother Prince Harry on their first day of school.
The adorable photos show Prince Harry and Prince William dressed in their school uniforms as they stand alongside their mother Princess Diana. One of the photos shows Prince William standing outside the Wetherby School in London where the Duke studied until the age of eight.
On Thursday, the palace also shared photos of Prince George arriving at his new school. The palace said: "TRH were met by the Head of Lower School before The Duke took Prince George inside to his reception classroom."
William and Middleton moved to Kensington Palace from their Norfolk country home, Anmer Hall, earlier this year for Prince George's schooling and to take up additional royal duties.
It was announced in March that Prince George will attend Thomas's school in Battersea, a choice that came as a surprise as many speculated that the little prince will attend the same school where his father and uncle studied. Tuition at Thomas's Battersea costs about £6,385 a term, which equals about $7,980, according to the Sun. The school has a theater, gym, music school, two libraries, three laboratories and a 1-acre playground, among other amenities, according to its website.
While it was planned that both Prince William and Kate Middleton would drop the 4-year-old at school, only the father was present. According to reports, the Duchess of Cambridge missed the first day of Prince George at school because of her severe morning sickness.
Earlier this week, the royal family announced the addition of a new member with Middleton's third pregnancy. The palace said the Duchess had canceled her royal engagement Monday as she was suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum, the same condition she had when she was pregnant with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Prince William made his first public appearance following the confirmation of Middleton's third pregnancy at the National Mental Health and Policing Conference in Oxford, England, on Tuesday where he thanked an audience member for congratulating him on the baby news.
"Thank you, it's very good news," Middleton's husband said in response (via Entertainment Tonight). "There's not much sleep going on at the moment." While talking about the morning sickness, Prince William said that despite the mother-to-be's health issue the family was able to "start celebrating this week." "It was a bit anxious to start with," he added.
Prince Harry, who will now be pushed to the sixth position in the line of succession to the British throne, also responded to Middleton's pregnancy news. He said he felt, “Fantastic. Great. Very, very happy,” and as far as he knew Middleton’s morning sickness wasn’t bad. “I haven't seen her for a while but I think she's OK,” he said.
