Prince William Is Protecting Prince George From Becoming ‘Overwhelmed’ By Future King Role

Prince George may have the third spot in the line of succession, but it doesn’t mean Prince William wants his son to be intimidated by his future role as king.

The Duke of Cambridge and his wife, Kate Middleton have reportedly begun preparing George for the day he takes the throne. However, William has been using various methods to ease the 6-year-old into his future role.

“He’ll explain things as if he’s reading from a children’s storybook. So it’s fun for George,” a source told Us Weekly.

Although Prince William wants his son to gain a better understanding of what it means to be king, he also wants to protect his childhood.

“William talks to George about what being a royal means. He does so in a very simple manner because he doesn’t want his son to feel overwhelmed at such a young age,” the insider revealed.

When Prince George isn’t busy learning about his role in the Royal Family, he is focused on his education at Thomas’s Battersea private school, where he is known as “George Cambridge.”

“He doesn’t get special treatment at school. While he often does as he’s told, if George disagrees with something, he’s not afraid to speak his mind. He’s a curious child who’s always asking questions. He’ll make a great king one day!”

Prince William reportedly felt overwhelmed during his childhood due to all of the media attention he received. In the documentary, “Prince William at Thirty,” royal expert Katie Nicholl claimed photographers almost ruined William’s first day of school.

“You could see that he was – as any boy would be about their first day at school – nervous,” the commentator revealed.

William was not pleased to see the paparazzi outside of his school but was able to enjoy his first day once he was taken to his classroom.

The experience may be the reason why Kate and William didn’t invite photographers to George’s first day of school. Instead, the couple released photos of the young prince outside of his new school.

While Prince William and Kate have begun to share more information with Prince George about his future, it seems the couple still wants to shelter their son from some of the challenges that come along with being king.
