Princes William, Harry's 'Frosty' Relationship: Future King Never 'Accepted' Brother's Independence, Author Claims

Prince William and Prince Harry's frost has reportedly been going on for a while.

Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ two sons were very close growing up. However, they reportedly had a falling out when Prince Harry proposed to Meghan Markle.

The Duke of Cambridge advised his younger sibling to slow down with his romance with the former “Suits” star. However, Prince Harry was livid because he felt that Prince William wasn’t supportive of him.

Royal author Leslie Carroll spoke about the brothers' rift and said that it has been going on for quite a while. She also doubts that they talk during the lockdown.

“This frost between the brothers has gone on for quite some time; so I have my doubts that they have spoken during the lockdown,” she told Express. “Which is sad; and I don’t know what it would take for the breach to heal.”

She also mentioned the two princes’ varying roles. According to her, Prince William’s future as the next monarch has been mapped out. Meanwhile, Prince Harry’s fate as the perennial spare has always been murkier. She added that Prince William has never accepted his younger brother's independence.

“William must accept that Meghan is Harry’s wife, the woman he loves and that Harry has never fully recovered emotionally from their mother’s death,” Carroll said. “I’m not entirely convinced that William has ever accepted the fact that Harry is his own man and must make his own choices.”

On May 6, Prince Harry and Markle’s son, Archie, celebrated his first birthday. Although there were no post from either couple about the celebration, the Duke of Cambridge reportedly wished his nephew a happy birthday. Nevertheless, she is still not convinced that Prince William and Prince Harry have ended their alleged feud.

“But if there has been a thaw in communications, I believe we might have heard about it,” she said.

However, according to Katie Nicholl, Prince William and Prince Harry are already on speaking terms. They reportedly started to work out on their relations in February.

“I think there is a sense of relief on both sides that this high drama is now a thing of the past,” Nicholl said.

It appeared that Nicholl’s report was right because just recently, Prince William mentioned his younger brother, Prince Harry, on Instagram. It was the first time the future king mentioned the Duke of Sussex in months.
