Princess Anne Gave Princess Michael Of Kent This Nickname Amid Their Feud
Princess Anne and Princess of Michael of Kent once feuded with each other.
In the Channel 5 documentary “The Royal Family at War,” former royal press secretary Dickie Arbiter said that Princess Anne once nicknamed Lady Gabriella Windsor’s mom as Princess Pushy. The title has been passed on to Meghan Markle recently.
“She is very assertive, so Princess Anne nicknamed her Princess Pushy,” he said.
Royal author Katie Nicholl also said that if the public is asked who Princess Michael of Kent is, they might not really know anything. But if they are asked who Princess Pushy is, they would automatically realize that it’s Princess Michael of Kent.
“She comes from royal blood in her own right. The royal’s joke that she thinks herself more royal than the House of Windsor,” Nicholl said.
Princess Diana’s former security officer Ken Wharfe also said that he doesn’t think Princess Michael of Kent’s relationship with the royal family was particularly friendly because there was an air of snobbery about her.
And when the Princess of Wales was still alive, she also had a unique nickname for her. The mom of two used to refer to Princess Michael of Kent as U-Boat Commander after the latter gossiped about her feelings about Princess Diana.
Nicholl said that Princess Michael of Kent previously described Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom as nasty and bitter, and she also said that Prince Charles was jealous of Princess Diana’s fame.
Queen Elizabeth II also had a nickname for Princess Michael of Kent. Her Majesty called her Our Val, in reference to the warrior-like Valkyries of Norse mythology.
Princess Michael of Kent is married to the monarch’s cousin, Prince Michael of Kent. She is descended from Austrian royalty. Prince Michael’s father, Prince George, the Duke of Kent, was the younger brother of the Queen’s dad, George VI.
Since Princess Michael of Kent is a Catholic, her husband forfeited his succession rights to the throne when they tied the knot in 1977.
