Princess Diana Could’ve Been ‘Depressed’ If She Survived Her Car Crash
Princess Diana tragically passed away following a fatal car crash in Paris on Aug. 31, 1997.
On the online forum site Quora, royal fans are wondering what would’ve happened if she survived the incident. Cory Raisa, who has done extensive non-tabloid research on the Princess of Wales, said that a lot of negative things would’ve happened if the mom of two survived the car crash.
Not only would Princess Diana be traumatized following the incident; she would also be suffering from nightmares and could have bad anxiety attacks. It is also possible for her face to have a permanent scar and her body to not be as healthy as it once was.
“She would be depressed and suffer from PTSD for a year or so after the accident… maybe until around the year 2000 or so. She’d recover emotionally over time, although 911 would plunge her into another depression for a while,” she said.
Susanna Humphreys said that if Princess Diana survived the car crash, she would still be divorced from Prince Charles. The couple will most likely not get back together after the accident. As such, Princess Diana would be known as Dowager.
Jade Worthington, a social worker, said that Princess Diana would probably be engaged or married to Dodi Al Fayed. Her then-boyfriend was also with her during the accident, and he also passed away.
The royal fan said that if both of them survived, they would have already been separated by now. Princess Diana would have several other suitors.
“Her private life would have remained troubled but fascism would have not taken the hold it has over the past 20 years. She would not have become Queen as she had already divorced the heir to the throne the year before she died… It would have been more difficult for Charles to remarry if Diana was still alive but it hasn’t stopped him from marrying Camilla,” she said.
