Princess Diana seemed to wear a fake smile because she looked sad in this rare throwback photo.

An old photo of Princess Diana has resurfaced on Instagram. In the snap, the last Princess of Wales smiles at the camera. She wears a black off-the-shoulder dress and multi-strand necklace with sapphire. However, she looks sad in it.

“She looks like she has a fake smile on...although at this time in her life I’m sure she always had one of those smiles everyday!!” one fan commented.

Another fan said that Princess Diana was not smiling with her eyes. A different fan said that her eyes were filled with sorrow.

“It looked like she was in pain,” another fan wrote.

A different user said that Princess Diana is so thin in the photo. For her, the royal appeared to have lost a lot of weight due to her skinny face.

While some fans observed Princess Diana’s sorrow, others were arguing if it was actually her in the photo. Some royal followers felt that she looked different in the snap and were confused if the lady is Princess Diana or Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

One said that the woman in the picture looks more like Sophie. However, the netizen who shared the photo reasoned out that they won’t be sharing photos of the Countess of Wessex in a page dedicated for the Princess of Wales.

Princess Diana was very close to her two sons when she was still alive. She was often photographed attending royal engagements with them.

As a mom, she was not scared to discipline her boys especially Prince William, the future king. According to a newly resurfaced report, there was a time when Princess Diana gave Prince William a public smacking after he misbehaved.

It happened during the Duke of Cambridge’s sports day in school. Princess Diana was ready to leave when Prince William rushed to play with his friends without his mom’s approval, so he gave him a firm smack on the bottom which made the third-in-line to the throne burst into tears.

Both Prince William and Prince Harry inherited Princess Diana’s love for dancing. The Duke of Sussex isn’t shy to show off his dance moves even when he is attending royal engagements.
