Princess Diana’s Fans Enraged Over UK’s ‘Storm Diana’ Warning For This Reason
Princess Diana’s fans were reportedly angered over a recent bad weather warning in the United Kingdom.
Met Office has given the raging storm the moniker “Storm Diana” and has described it as a danger to life. The major change in weather this week will see the storm unleashing powerful gales, torrential rains, and potential travel chaos.
But other than the possible dangers that “Storm Diana” will bring, royal fans are also reacting negatively over the name given by the Portuguese Meteorological Authority (IPMA).
“Who else thinks it’s wrong that we’ve named a storm after the People’s Princess, Diana of Wales?” one person tweeted (via Daily Star).
“Calling this storm Diana adds a whole new layer to the ‘Candle in the Wind,’” one royal fan joked.
“Storm Diana is on its way to the UK. Once it’s dead it’ll be followed by Storm Camilla,” another person commented.
“#StormDiana is coming next week to the UK, Princess Diana has plotted her revenge, get ready,” one fan wrote.
On Met Office’s official Twitter account, it was posted, “#StormDiana named by @ipma_pt will bring strong winds and heavy rains to the northwestern parts of the Azores on Tuesday. Diana will then merge with another low pressure on Wednesday to give wet and windy conditions to parts of the UK.”
In related news, Princess Diana also made headlines this week after her “Stardust” appeal was linked to Meghan Markle. Royal expert Camilla Tominey told Yahoo’s “The Royal Box” that the two female royals have similarities when it comes to their relationship with the public.
“The photographers from yesteryear say this is very much like the Diana era. You didn’t have to invent anything, she was the event. Meghan’s got a bit of that. She’s got a bit of that sprinkling Stardust,” she said (via Express).
Markle has also copied Princess Diana’s baby wave body language trick according to expert Judi James. This move involves waving the hand while the head is slightly bent down but while still looking straight into the cameras.
