Princess Diana’s Musical Criticized, Won’t Make Princes William, Harry Happy: ‘Best Ignored’

Princess Diana’s new musical was criticized.

A new musical, titled “Diana,” was criticized by royal commentators for being “tasteless.” The show that began at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego, California features Princess Diana’s troubled marriage with Prince Charles and romance with James Hewitt.

“It is in such bad taste that it's best ignored,” editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine Ingrid Seward told Daily Mail.

When asked if the royal family were likely to watch it, the royal commentator gave a negative response. According to her, none of them would be interested in it.

One audience member noted that Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s sons won’t be pleased with the show. “I don't think Prince William and Prince Harry would be very happy with this,” he said.

One scene features Princess Diana’s former lover James Hewitt only wearing boxer shorts as he caresses Princess Diana. Just a feet away, Prince Charles embraces Camilla Parker Bowles as the actors play out the “crowded” marriage of the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Princess Diana blamed Prince Charles and Camilla for her failed marriage. The People’s Princess stated that “there were three of us in this marriage,” suggesting that she was aware of the future king and Duchess of Cornwall’s illicit affair.

The eyebrow-raising musical also recreates the scene where Princess Diana wore a strapless dress to a party when Prince Charles admitted that he cheated on her with Camilla. A male character believed to be Paul Burrell tells Princess Diana to wear a [explicit] dress.

The musical depicts Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s adulterous life and how their marriage ended in divorce. It also features the royal’s tragic death.

Burrell revealed earlier that Princess Diana suspected Prince Charles of plotting an automobile accident to kill her. Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom felt that her then husband wanted her dead in order to marry Camilla.

Initially, Prince Charles and Camilla had a hard time getting the public’s support. However, the couple’s enduring love has convinced many to warm up to them. In fact, even Princess Diana’s fans have started to praise Camilla and are convinced that she deserves to be a queen consort.
