Princess Eugenie’s Wedding Dress: Everything We Know About Her Royal Attire
Princess Eugenie’s has not yet named her wedding dress designer or shared the design of her gown, but she has dropped some hints about her royal attire.
During a recent interview, the 28-year-old princess confirmed that she has chosen a British designer to create her gown for her Oct. 12 wedding to Jack Brooksbank at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
“I’m not telling anyone who is making it, but I can say it is a British-based designer,” she said.
According to Harper’s Bazaar, Princess Eugenie is following in the footsteps of Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, who both opted to work with a British-based designer for their bridal gowns.
Princess Eugenie also revealed that she was very hands-on when it comes to her wedding dress.
“The dress is the one thing that I was really decisive about. As soon as we announced the wedding, I knew the designer, and the look, straight away. I never thought I’d be the one who knew exactly what I like, but I’ve been pretty on top of it,” she said.
Some of the designers that are being linked to Princess Eugenie’s wedding dress are Erdem and Vivienne Westwood. Princess Eugenie wore an Erdem creation during her engagement photoshoot earlier this year. She has also worn a Westwood creation during Prince William and Middleton’s 2011 nuptials at Westminster Abbey.
There are also some speculations suggesting that Princess Eugenie will try a bold and unique look for her wedding dress. Two years ago, she told Harper’s Bazaar that she loves experimenting on her looks.
“I love trying new looks. I don’t want to be pigeonholed. You wear the same thing twice? Great. If you don’t, great!” she said.
Isabella Sullivan, a journalist for Express, also said that it is possible Princess Eugenie’s gown will be inspired by Sarah Ferguson’s iconic 1980s bridal dress. This means that Princess Eugenie’s attire may be as flashy as her mom’s, and it may also feature some secret love messages pertaining to her and Brooksbank’s relationship.
