PS Plus August Free Games Announced: Everything You Need To Know

The freebies from PlayStation Plus for the month of August will be an all-new multiplayer party battler and a remastered blockbuster.

Making its PlayStation 4 debut on August 4 is hilarious multiplayer title “Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.” “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered” from developer Infinity Ward blasts onto PS4 with upgraded visuals, it was announced on the PlayStation Blog.

From August 4 till August 11, attempt to survive a series of hilarious challenges until one remains in the colorful 60-person online multiplayer game that is “Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.”

Featuring physics-based action with free-for-all brawls and team-based co-op challenges, the debut of “Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout” on PS Plus is sure to give the game a wide audience, a la multiplayer sensation “Rocket League,” which similarly debuted on Plus back in 2015.

Bend, bounce and bash your way through hilarious physics-based obstacles, from smashing through doors to balancing on massive see-saws, to racing up mountains riddled with traps. You can even customize your Fall Guy by customizing them with classy pineapple couture or prehistoric fashion.

A remaster of Infinity Ward’s first-person military shooter, “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered” allows you to relive the campaign from the 2009 blockbuster but remastered for a new generation.

“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered” immerses you in a gripping, action-driven adventure in which you must face off against a deadly new threat hellbent on bringing the world to the brink of collapse.

The game has improved textures, animations, physically based rendering, high-dynamic range lighting, and more. Join Soap, Price, Ghost, and the rest of Task Force 141 in a globe-spanning fight to restore world order.

You can also rediscover classic missions including Whiskey Hotel, The Gulag, and Cliffhanger. This game will be available from July 28 until August 31.

In addition, from August 8, 12:01 a.m. until August 9 at 11:59 p.m., another free online multiplayer weekend is coming to the PS4.

Meanwhile, PlayStation Blog notes that the free PS4 theme celebrating the past decade can still be downloaded for free on PS Store for a limited time as Sony’s way of saying thanks for supporting PS Plus for the past decade.

Before these titles become available, you’ve still got time to download PS Plus games for July in the form of “NBA 2K20,” “Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration,” and the cinematic thriller “Erica.” These games will be available until Monday, August 3.
