It’s official: Emojis are coming to replace the written word. Once the realm of teens and BuzzFeed quizzes, the iconography is pushing into far ends of life such as science and food ordering.

As Raw Story pointed out, Bill Nye the Science Guy explained climate change using emojis in a recent YouTube Video.

Emojis have been picking up steam since Apple released the updated racially diverse keyboard. While the initial release was tainted by what some thought was racism, the keyboard language has been on the upswing getting a place in the dictionary and giving Taylor Swift her own icon.

Companies are now giving the small hieroglyphs more usability: Unicode recently released a means to call in sick via emoji. And, if you're too sick to get out of bed, Domino’s will even let you order pizza with an emoji and a tweet.

While there are rumors about what's in store of the next emoji update, Chevrolet recently sent a press release completely in emojis. If that doesn't prove that the current emoji set and a little imagination makes anything possible, we're not sure what does.
