Kelly Clarkson Covers Taylor Swift, *N Sync, Rihanna During Latest Tour [VIDEO]
Kelly Clarkson's got a blank space -- and it's for a song request. The 2002 "American Idol" winner has been flexing her vocal chords during her latest tour by asking audience member to pick songs for her to cover. And she's been hitting them out of the park.
Over the weekend, Clarkson's "Piece By Piece" tour rolled into Toronto, where Clarkson gave fans a slower, yet still perfect rendition of Taylor Swift's "Blank Space."
And Swift isn’t the only artist getting the Kelly treatment. Last week, Clarkson covered "Bye, Bye, Bye," the iconic *N Sync song.
Clarkson told Entertainment Weekly that on tours, she asks an audience member to pick a song for her to cover. Kelly has also done covers of Rihanna's "Stay" and Nick Jonas' "Jealous."
And who could forget Clarkson's take on "B---- Better Have My Money"? Clarkson covered Rihanna's new release for BCC Radio 1. But Clarkson isn't the only person to try her hand at the Rihanna tune; Miss Piggy also put her own spin on it.
Clarkson rose to fame as the first winner of America Idol. Her first single, "A Moment Like This," was released in September 2002 with her first album, "Thankful," debuting in April 2003. "Thankful" went to No. 1 on the Billboard charts and was certified multiplatinum by the RIAA. The album's success paved the way for Clarkson's other albums, including "My December" in 2007, "All I Ever Wanted" in 2009 and, most recently, "Piece By Piece," released in March.
