Purported Moto 360 (2015) Photos Surface; Release Date, Pricing And Key Specs Revealed
After the success of the original Moto 360 smartwatch, Motorola is all set to launch a successor model for it very soon. People living at Chicago, where the headquarters of Motorola is situated, have spotted employees of Motorola testing the unreleased Moto 360 (2015).
Repositioned Wake Button, Flat Tire Look
Geritt Godecke on Google+ and a Reddit user, TheGuyWhoRuinedIt, have released the photos of the purported Moto 360 (2015) smartwatch, suggesting that the new wearable from Motorola will again sport a round dial. However, the power/wake button, which was slotted on the three o’clock mark on the predecessor, has been repositioned to two o’clock mark.
Another noticeable fact about the Moto 360 (2015) is that it still features the black colored bar (aka flat tire), which means that the newer device will not be a completely round smartwatch. The bottom edge will be featuring the ambient light sensor that will allow the screen to automatically adjust the brightness based on the lighting of the surrounding.
Lugs for Straps
A new feature that can be seen on the Motorola Moto 360 (2015) is the addition of lugs for straps. It gives a very traditional wristwatch like appeal to the device. Since the straps on the original Moto 360 very attached to its bottom, it was not easy to remove or replace. However, swapping the straps and giving it a unique appeal will be a lot easier.
Two Sizes, Release Date And Pricing
Citing overseas regulatory reports, The Verge claimed that the new smartwatch from Motorola will be available in large and small sizes.
According to GSM Arena that cites liontech.se, a Swedish source, the Moto 360 (2015) variant will come with cognac leather strap, measuring 4.65 mm. The report also said that the device will feature a 375 mAh battery and will be priced at SEK 3,800 ($453). There could be another varaint, which will be available with dark or light colored stainless steel band, a 275 mAh battery and a price tag of SEK 2,900 ($345).
Electronics are costlier in Sweden because of which the new Motorola smartwatch are carrying expensive price tags, GSM Arena reported.
The shipment of The Moto 360 (2015) is expected to begin from Sept. 8, suggesting that the smartwatch may be announced at the upcoming IFA 2015 event.
