Queen Elizabeth Broke This Important Record, Made History As A Monarch
Queen Elizabeth previously broke an important record, and she also made history as the longest-serving monarch.
Her Majesty dedicated most of her adult life to being the head of the monarchy. She ascended the throne following the death of King George VI on Feb. 6, 1952.
As of late, the Queen continues to carry out royal duties even though she’s already 93 years old. And even without Prince Philip by her side, the Queen continues on with her royal duties and engagements.
Since the Queen has been on the throne for the past 67 years, she has been dubbed as the longest-serving monarch in British history.
Other than the history that she previously broke, there are also several other interesting facts about the mom of four. When she was much younger, Prince Philip’s wife loved acting.
In fact, she once performed alongside her sister, Princess Margaret, in a slew of pantomimes during World War II. In 1941, she gave life to the character of Prince Florizel in the stage play “Cinderella.”
The photo of the Queen shows her wearing a prince’s clothes. She is also holding the hands of Princess Margaret.
Her Majesty also broke another record after she gave to Prince Andrew in 1960. At that time, she became the first reigning sovereign to ever give birth to a child.
Meanwhile, the Queen also made headlines this week after it was revealed that the Duke of Edinburgh made a huge sacrifice for his wife. Several years ago, the dad of four gave up his career in the Royal Navy so that the Queen could perform her duties.
“Philip was superb because it was much worse for him, end of his career, he would have been First Sea Lord. He gives up his career… He’s always going to be walking three paces behind his wife, and the whole court and the aristocracy are against him,” Lady Pamela Hicks said.
