Queen Elizabeth Didn’t Restrict Meghan Markle From Wearing Royal Collection Jewelry
Queen Elizabeth II has not banned Meghan Markle from wearing jewelry from the Royal Collection, contrary to initial reports.
A source recently told Us Weekly that the previous claims about Markle not being allowed to wear Princess Diana’s jewelry are inaccurate. The source said that the rumor stemmed from that one time wherein Her Majesty told Markle that she couldn’t wear a particular type of jewelry for the royal wedding.
Meg Storm, a journalist for Us Weekly, said that Markle has not also borrowed jewelry from the Royal Collection ever since her royal wedding. And this may simply be due to the fact that she doesn’t have any reason to do so.
Kate Middleton, on the other hand, has worn the diamond and pearl Lover’s Knot Tiara for state banquets. But such an event has not yet been attended by the Duchess of Sussex.
On Thursday, The Sun’s executive editor Dan Wootton claimed that the Queen has banned Markle from using jewelry from the Royal Collection due to the “Suits” alum’s recent behavior.
“Aspects of Meghan’s behavior, including before the royal wedding, caused resentment with forces within Buckingham Palace. To be perfectly honest, the Queen herself was not impressed with some of Meghan’s demands, especially as a new member of the royal family,” a source said.
The unnamed source also said that the Queen informed Prince William regarding her decision to restrict Markle from using jewelry from the Royal Collection.
“The Queen likes Meghan personally but this is about the hierarchy. She is knowing that maintaining the correct order and precedence within the family is important… Even if Meghan is the most popular woman in the world, she is of a lower rank than Kate,” the source said.
But as it has been confirmed, the Queen never restricted Markle from using jewelry from the Royal Collection. It is also possible that she never spoke to Prince William about doing so.
