Queen Elizabeth II Faces ‘Food Disaster’ In Balmoral Estate, Says Royal Expert
Queen Elizabeth II and the other members of the royal family are currently faced with a food disaster in Balmoral.
The entire British clan is currently in Balmoral for their annual summer vacation, but it has been learned that they ran out of birds due to the hot weather. Darren McGrady, a royal expert, confirmed the news to Express.
“I was at Balmoral Castle last week and was talking to a friend who works on the estate. He was telling me that the hot weather had killed so many chicks the shoots had been cut back. The grouse season started on Monday. Sunday was officially the glorious twelfth but you can’t shoot on a Sunday in Scotland. The first official Grouse shoot is this Friday,” he explained.
McGrady, who worked for the Queen in the palace for 11 years, revealed that Grouse is Her Majesty’s favorite dish.
“The Queen loves grouse. It will be on the Balmoral menu for the next two months. Most of the time it was served as roast grouse with game chips, bread sauce, and redcurrant jelly,” he said.
In related news, McGrady said that Queen is not much of a foodie but she enjoyed any game.
“For the main course, any game, she loved the game. Things like Gaelic steak, fillet steak with a mushroom whiskey sauce, especially if we did it with venison fillet instead. For the first course, things like Gleneagles pate which was smoked salmon, trout and mackerel. She loved using ingredients off the estate and so if we had salmon from Balmoral from the River Dee, she’d have that, it was one of her favorites,” she said.
The Queen will be staying in Balmoral until next month or October. Last weekend, she was spotted heading to church with Princess Beatrice and Prince Andrew. Her husband, Prince Philip, didn’t join her in Balmoral this year.
