The monarch is a trained driver and mechanic. In fact, she was given the rank of honorary junior commander. Queen Elizabeth II is the only monarch ever who knows how to change a spark plug and a tire.

Royal expert Marlene Koenig shared a letter the Queen wrote to a friend where she expressed her joy in taking the mechanics course. "Just finished a mechanics course in the ATS which I found most interesting," the monarch wrote (via Express).

"I've never worked so hard in my life before, as everything I learned was brand new to me - all the offices of a car and all the intricacies of map reading," she added.

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II has been seen wearing gloves whenever she's in public. According to Genevieve James, creative director and daughter of the founder of the glove makers, Her Majesty always wear this because her outfit wouldn't be complete without it.

The Queen ensure that her white gloves are always clean. So, she has more than one pair in her handbag.

"I imagine she always has two or three pairs in her handbag to spare," James said.

The Queen's pair of gloves is quite costly as it amounts to $143 a pair. So, she makes sure that it's been taken care of when it's damaged.

"I think the royal family wants to be seen as being economical, not wasting money on things like that," James added. "She'll wear her gloves for 40 years and will pull some out from a long time ago."

Queen Elizabeth II's gloves are designed to have custom-made length. It also stretches five inches from the base of the thumb to her arm because she doesn't want to show her arms.

"When you're the queen and you’re shaking hands, you don't really want to show your arms," James continued. "The glove goes a bit under her sleeve, so you don't actually see any arm."
