Queen Elizabeth, Princes Charles, William Do This When Traveling To Avoid ‘Homesickness’
Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Prince William, and the other members of the royal family figured out an effective trick to avoid homesickness.
In the documentary “Queen of the World,” it was revealed that the royals use special bed sheets that they use at hotels during their travels. Doing so helps give them a comfortable sleep and makes them feel as though they are just at home.
Christine Macintyre, master of the household at Rideau Hall, said (via Express), “After a long day of traveling, there is nothing better than getting into a bed that doesn’t feel like a hotel bed and that’s what you’re trying to do, to make it feel like they are in their own bedroom. There are special sheets which are used for members of the royal family, and they are kept aside and brought out only on those special occasions,” she said.
Macintyre revealed that it takes over an hour to iron the special sheets used by the monarch whenever she’s in Canada. The country also remains to be the most-visited destination of Her Majesty since she also serves as its monarch.
The other members of the royal family are known for packing some special items with them on their trips. In the past, it was reported that Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles travel with a special orthopedic bed, lavatory seat, and a special toilet paper roll.
However, Prince Charles claimed that there is no truth to his alleged outrageous travel demands.
The Queen is also known for packing her own hot water bottle whenever she travels, and she also never goes without her camera, a spare pair of white gloves, a bottled water, and her favorite cake.
According to Reader’s Digest, the monarch always has her jet lag medicine, a black outfit, toilet paper, spare blood, her Globe-Trotter luggage, her personalized luggage tags, and more.
