Queen Elizabeth Shocking Rumor Claims Monarch Could Die In January; Palace Responds
One netizen predicted that Queen Elizabeth II could die soon.
According to Latifa Yedroudj, a journalist for Express, a shocking claim was posted on Reddit suggesting that the monarch could die this month. On Dec. 27, Reddit user Beefy_Cabbage wrote on the online message board that the Queen could die on January 5. The original message and the account of the user who posted it were mysteriously deleted but not before it gained 50,000 upvotes and 7,000 comments.
Some dubbed it as a “creepy prediction” or a mistake that sparked an outrageous response. Buckingham Palace responded to it by refusing to comment. Meanwhile, others were concerned if the Queen would get online and read it.
On the other hand, one fan broke down the probability of Her Majesty’s death considering her age.
“Elizabeth II is currently 92 years old. Via this website , the odds for a 92-year-old woman to die within the next year of her life is 16.06% (which will be rounded up to 16.1% for simplification),” the user wrote. “Dividing this probability evenly among all 365 days of the year (which is not how it works, but it's all that we have to go off of), each day of her 92nd year, the Queen has about a 0.04411% chance of dying on any given day.”
The user added that to fulfill the prediction, the Queen would need not to die before the stated date and then die on the very day. “By this expression, the Queen has a 0.04393% chance of dying on January 5th, 2019,” the user continued.
The said user added that the odds of the monarch dying on that date is 1 in 2276 and concluded that it’s very unlikely to happen.
Queen Elizabeth II is still in good condition and is not even slowing down when it comes to her royal duties. Back in June, she increased her workload by 25 percent compared to the previous year. However, she might reduce her work this year.
Reports have it that Queen Elizabeth II would lighten up her load in 2019 and would add more workload to Markle. Her Majesty is reportedly giving the Duchess of Sussex her first patronage that will reflect the former "Suits" star’s interest in feminism and arts.
