Queen Elizabeth II was forced to wait alone since Kate Middleton and Prince William got distracted at Ascot.

The senior members of the royal family reunited again at the Royal Ascot on Tuesday. According to Katie Weston, a journalist for Express, the Queen was filmed alone while the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared distracted.

Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William and Middleton made their entrance 30 minutes before the first race began. Queen Elizabeth II was joined by Prince Andrew and King Willem-Alexander and wife Queen Maxima on the carriage. On the other hand, the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in the same ride.

The Queen looked elegant in her blue dress coat but was spotted alone. Footage shows Her Majesty turning around to Prince William and Middleton who appeared distracted before walking away in a different direction.

Ascot is an annual event that celebrates a special week of races with over 300,000 attendees dressed in their finest garbs. Just like the Queen, Middleton dressed elegantly in a sheer blue dress with a matching hat. On the other hand, Prince William appeared dapper in his black tuxedo while holding an umbrella.

It was a rainy day and Prince William’s umbrella was very useful. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were photographed sharing the same umbrella while greeting the other guests.

Prince William and Middleton’s photo under the same umbrella was reminiscent of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s sweet moment at Dubbo. Both didn’t make it to Ascot on Tuesday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were photographed sharing the same umbrella during their royal tour in Australia. It was raining before Prince Harry took the stage to give a speech, but he wanted to keep his pregnant wife dry so he left the umbrella to the former actress. Markle didn’t want her husband to get wet while she stayed dry, so she followed Prince Harry to the podium and held the umbrella to shield them while he spoke to the locals.

Prince Harry and Markle were last seen together with the other members of the royal family at Trooping the Colour. The duchess is still on maternity leave after giving birth to baby Archie last month.
