Kate Middleton and Prince William shared an umbrella at Ascot and this reminded everyone of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s sweet moment at Dubbo.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles at the Royal Ascot’s opening day on Tuesday. After the carriage ride, Prince William and Middleton happily greeted the other family members before heading up the royal box, People first reported.

Shortly after their arrival, the rain poured again, but the duke was ready since he was armed with a black umbrella. Prince William immediately held it over himself and his wife to shield them from the rain. The couple then continued to laugh and chat with the other guests.

After seeing Prince William and Middleton under the same umbrella, many remembered Prince Harry and Markle. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had a similar moment months ago during their royal tour in Australia.

Prince Harry kept his pregnant wife dry before giving a speech to the crowd by leaving the umbrella to her. However, the duchess didn’t like the idea of her husband getting wet while she stayed dry, so Markle followed him to the podium and held the umbrella to shield them from the rain while he spoke to the locals.

Later on, they were seen walking with different umbrellas. However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain close by holding hands while walking.

Months ago, Prince Harry and Markle decided to have a separate household from Prince William and Middleton. Following their split, Prince Harry and Markle decided to lanch their own account on Instagram.

Just hours after announcing their official account on the social media platform, Prince Harry and Markle gained millions of followers. However, Prince William and Middleton remain more popular as they also gained more followers now that Kensington Palace is exclusively theirs. The account only had 7.1 million followers when it still managed the fab four. Now that it only manages Prince William and Middleton, its followers grew to 9.3 million.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly hired a social media expert to close the over half a million follower gap between them and the Cambridges. The new staff’s roles include boosting the couple’s global image and encouraging more followers.
