Queen Elizabeth II has a bizarre request when it comes to how her drinks should be served.

The Queen enjoys tipple, but she has a particular preference when it comes to how her drinks should be served. Her Majesty reportedly doesn’t like it to be served with ice cubes in a typical square shape for a particular reason.

“The Queen likes her ice cubes in her glass to be round so they don’t chink quite as much as square ones,” author Karen Dolby told Fabulous Digital.

Queen Elizabeth II orders that her drinks be served with her preferred ice at home. The monarch prefers round ice because she hates the noise ice cubes make. Queen Elizabeth II abhors it so much that Prince Philip made a machine that makes tiny ice balls.

Former chef Darren McGrady said that Queen Elizabeth II’s favorite drink of choice is gin and Dubbonet. Her Majesty doesn’t drink every day. When she does, she drinks in the evening and doesn’t drink four glasses in a day.

According to Tom Bower in his book “Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles,” one evening, the Prince of Wales approached his mother to soften her antagonism toward Camilla Parker Bowles, so they could publicize their romance. However, the monarch had several martinis and their encounter did not end up well.

Queen Elizabeth II reportedly told Prince Charles that she wanted nothing to do with Camilla. She even called the Duchess of Cornwall “a wicked woman.”

Queen Elizabeth II and Camilla’s relationship has since improved. Last year, the Queen praised Camilla when she proposed a toast for Prince Charles for his 70th birthday. The monarch noted how Camilla helped Prince Charles to be his own man who is passionate and creative.

According to journalist Catherine Ostler, Camilla is a peacemaker by nature. In fact, she helped Sarah Ferguson regain her royal standing despite her friendship with Princess Diana. Camilla reinstated the Duchess of York as the patron of her late brother’s charity, the Elephant Family, after Prince Charles kicked Prince Andrew’s ex-wife out.
