Questions About Natica Harris’ Mysterious Disappearance Remain After Woman Is Found
Natica Harris was found Monday, but that doesn’t mean questions about her temporary disappearance were answered. The popular Cleveland host was hosting a party in Washington, D.C. for the homecoming for Howard University students. When her sister didn’t hear from her, she started to post on Instagram and eventually the news went viral. Harris was found nearly a day after she went missing, but she was found disoriented, WKYC reported Tuesday.
Harris, 23, was found without her shoes or a jacket. She was only wearing a T-shirt and jeans when she was discovered on the campus of Virginia State.
“The fact that she was found the way she was… she just appeared somethings not right,” Latroya Edwards, Harris’ sister, told WKYC. “When I first saw her face her look was so blank mind you she had no shoes on no jacket on it’s cold.”
Harris was just one of 30 hosts who traveled to D.C. to host homecoming parties. She was in charge of the party at Rosebar. After the event, Harris went back to her hotel room.
No one knew Harris was missing until her manager went to check on her at her hotel room at 4 a.m. Sunday morning. “Maybe she’ll pop up in the morning, nothing from Natica, her phone is going to voicemail," said Edwards.
Since her family had to wait 24 hours to file a police report, Edwards took to social media to spread the word. “She did everything no sleep, no nothing, no shut eye, no eat, no drink, no nothing she did it all on her own," sister Teiona Harris told WKYC about Latroya.
Because of the attention Edwards’ posts received from blogs like Media Take Out and Bossip, rumors about Harris’ whereabouts and condition swirled. “We were getting stuff about her being in a sex trafficking a bunch of things people asking us for money,” she said.
Still, the family credited social media for Harris being found. “Don’t think your family is untouchable and nothing like that would ever happen when you go places. Watch your surroundings, don’t let anyone just buy you a drink. Just be aware,” Edwards said.
Harris, whose Instagram account is @so.blessed, has not posted to social media since she was found. She her highly publicized disappearance, she now amasses nearly 40,000 followers.
