Ralphie May’s Official Cause Of Death Revealed; Comedian Dies At 45
Ralphie May passed away on Oct. 6 at the age of 45. Two months later, the comedian’s cause of death has finally been revealed.
A spokesperson with the Clark County Coroner confirmed that the manner of May’s death was natural. More specifically, he died from hypertensive cardiovascular disease.
The comedian’s body was found at a private Las Vegas residence two months ago. His rep released a statement following his death and revealed that his client had been battling pneumonia.
“We are heartbroken to announce the untimely death of our friend, Ralphie May. Ralphie had been battling pneumonia and had cancelled a handful of dates over the last month in an effort to recover. Earlier this morning at a private residence in Las Vegas his body was discovered,” the statement read.
May is survived by his wife, Lahna Turner, and children, April June and August James.
Following his death, there were rumors that May may have died due to suicide. His wife, Turner, accused him of being a drug addict earlier this year. Turner filed for divorce from May a couple of years ago, but she reunited with her husband in 2015.
At that time, Turner claimed that May became physically abusive and controlling. In the court documents obtained by TMZ, Turner said that May became frustrated over his monitored visits to their children.
Turner also alleged that her husband insulted her and threatened to kill himself whenever he’s intoxicated. May’s wife also requested for a restraining order against the comedian, but it was only partially granted by the court. May wasn’t ordered to stay 100 yards away from his wife, but the court urged him to stop abusing her.
But May and Turner seemed to be in a much better place at the time of the comedian’s death. One day after it was announced that May passed away, Turner shared an adorable photo of the two of them. May had a huge smile on his face, and a huge chandelier on the ceiling made it look like he had a halo.
