Razer Phone 2 Revealed To Look Exactly Like The Original Razer Phone
Last year, Razer released its very first Android smartphone that’s intended for gamers. This year, a sequel to the handset is on its way. An image of the Razer Phone 2 has been leaked online and it shows the device looking very similar to the original Razer handset.
The render for the Razer Phone 2 was shared online by Android Headlines. The site claims that the image was provided to them by “a reliable source.” The new gaming smartphone looks completely identical to the first Razer Phone since it still comes with fairly large bezels. If the image is accurate, the handset will probably just feature internal upgrades rather than a major redesign. Unfortunately, the leaked image only shows the front of the Razer Phone 2, so it’s still very possible that Razer may have changed the design of the back. The leaked render of the handset also shows the Oct. 10 date on the lock screen, which is now being speculated to be the phone’s launch date.
Although the Razer Phone 2 looks identical to the original model, there are small differences between the two when compared side by side. The Razer Phone 2 appears to have slightly thicker bezels on the left and right sides of the display. The handset also appears to have the same dual front-facing cameras as the original Razer Phone, but the lenses are now slightly farther away from each other.
If Razer is indeed using most of the same design elements as last year’s model, then mobile gamers can expect the upcoming phone to have the same 5.7-inch 16:9 aspect ratio display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Although the bezels may make the device look outdated, it will most likely deliver superior audio with dual front-facing speakers. The original Razer Phone had the same setup and the speakers supported Dolby Atmos.
Everything else about the Razer Phone 2 remains a mystery, but there are some rumors suggesting that it may come with some surprises. The upcoming handset might arrive with Chroma LED lighting effects. If this turns out to be true, then the phone will be a lot like Razer’s other gaming products. This hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it might function as a way to alert users of their notifications.
As for internal specs, it’s believed that the Razer Phone 2 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It’s also very likely that the handset will have 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The upcoming gaming smartphone is also expected to have impressive battery life. The original had a massive 4,000 mAh battery, as pointed out by The Next Web. On the software side of things, it might run Android 8.1 Oreo straight out of the box.
