R&B singer Emani 22, known for her songs “Feelings” and “Close” has died. Her manager confirmed her death Monday.

In a statement to People, her manager said the 22-year-old singer died following a “tragic accident.” “It is with heavy hearts that the family of Emani 22 has confirmed her passing,” said the late singer's manager. “They would like to share that although she fought courageously and the medical team went above and beyond doing everything in their power to aid in her recovery, on Monday, October 11th, Emani succumbed to the injuries she sustained after a tragic accident.”

Neither Emani 22’s family nor her manager has provided further details about the tragic accident, but they are asking for privacy to mourn and honor her life and memories at this time.

In a separate statement, record producer J Maine also confirmed Emani’s death. “Emani 22 was a wonderful individual that literally brightened up any room she was in,” he wrote. “I worked on music with her, and helped her put together her last project which was ‘The Color Red.’ The way we worked together was effortless, we just understood each other,” he added.

Record producer 34-year-old J Maine said it hurts him knowing the last time he saw Emani 22 was the last time he would actually ever see her again. “I considered her to be like a little sister to me. She will be missed and never forgotten, and I’ll always think about the great times we had hanging out,” he continued.

After news about her sudden demise came out, several celebrities paid tribute to the young singer on social media. One of them was Bhad Bhabie, who shared a photo of her with Emani 22 on Instagram. “I don’t even know what to say… This doesn’t even feel real,” she captioned her post.

Bhad Bhabie said she used to spend almost every day with Emani 22 and that she had taught her a lot of things. “You are my inspiration for many things (hair, nails, style, etc) my big sister. I’m gonna miss you so much,” she concluded her post.

The 18-year-old also posted another photo of Emani 22 with a dog on her chest. “Chuppas favorite auntie,” she wrote in the caption.
