‘Real Housewives Of NYC’ Season 12 Will Address Cast Members’ Excessive Drinking
Some of the most intense arguments that took place on “The Real Housewives of New York City” have happened under the influence of alcohol, and it appears Season 12 of the Bravo series will address the cast’s excessive drinking.
In an audio clip shared by Australian radio station KIIS 106, the executive producer of the Bravo reality series, Andy Cohen, revealed that the latest season will discuss the women’s relationship with alcohol.
“There’s a lot of booze this season, and the good news is that they, they… It becomes a big topic of discussion as the season goes on because they’re all kind of in various stages of being off the rails,” the “Watch What Happens Live” host said.
“And so, they actually start talking a lot about their relationship with alcohol, and alcohol in the group.”
In the past, longtime cast member Luann de Lesseps was arrested for disorderly intoxication and checked into rehab to get her drinking under control. She previously opened up to Us Weekly about her complicated relationship with alcohol.
Due to the drinking that takes place by other cast members while filming for the “RHONY,” Luann admitted she struggled to control her alcohol consumption on the show.
“You know, it’s just — I wouldn’t say pressure. You just feel like you’re kind of, non-included, you kind of feel like, you know, you’re out of the group somehow,” she told the publication.
However, amid the coronavirus pandemic, the star revealed she has chosen to stay sober.
“I’m so glad during quarantine to not have to deal with drinking. I feel like if I was drinking during quarantine, I’d be drinking a lot,” she confessed.
“The Real Housewives of New York City” airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.
