‘Real Housewives Of NYC’ Star Dorinda Medley Announces Exit Amid Emotional Season 12
“The Real Housewives of New York City” star Dorinda Medley has announced her exit from the Bravo reality series amid the emotional Season 12 episodes.
On Tuesday, the 55-year-old shared a throwback Instagram photo of herself and revealed her plans to depart the show after six seasons of being a fulltime cast member.
“What a journey this has been. I have laughed and cried and tried to Make it Nice... But all things must come to an end. This was a great outlet for me to heal when my late husband Richard passed away,” she wrote in the caption. “I have met so many interesting people and learned so much about myself, about life, and about women along the way.”
Dorinda went on to express her gratitude to those who contributed to her success.
“Thank you to Bravo and NBC for the incredible ride and to my castmates for constant stimulation and entertainment. I wish you all health, happiness, and success,” she wrote.
Dorinda’s announcement comes as episodes of “RHONY” Season 12 are still airing. The latest installments have documented her emotional battles to cope with the death of her husband, her relationship with John Mahdessian, and other issues.
“I had an emotional year,” she told People in April while commenting on the season’s explosive trailer. “And everybody assumes from watching that clip that it’s because I was fighting with this one or drinking too much of this, but I was going through a lot of changes that were really taking a toll in my personal life.”
Dorinda isn’t the first “The Real Housewives of New York City” cast member to recently say goodbye to the popular Bravo series. In June, Tinsley Mortimer revealed she would be leaving the show to marry her fiancé Scott Kluth.
Prior to that, Bethenny Frankel announced her departure from the NYC franchise after landing a production partnership with Mark Burnett.
“The Real Housewives of New York City” airs Thursday at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.
